Biography
Dr. Giuseppe Militello is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. His clinical practice specializes in medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Militello received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, where he graduated with honors, and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was inducted early into the AOA National Medical Honor Society. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where in his last year of residency served as chief resident.
After residency, Dr. Militello joined the faculty of Columbia University as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology. During his time at Columbia, he founded and directed the Occupational Dermatology and Contact Dermatitis Unit. He also taught residents in clinic and directed the Organ Transplant clinic, which specialized in treating skin disease in organ transplant recipients. To further expand his expertise in skin disease, Dr. Militello then completed a dermatopathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Militello is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Dermatology and Pathology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of both the American Contact Dermatitis Society and American Society of Dermatopathology. He has participated in various committees and has also served on the board of directors of the Greater New York Dermatologic Society. Dr. Militello has given several talks at meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Contact Dermatitis Society. Additionally, he is extensively published in the field of occupational dermatology and contact dermatitis in peer-reviewed journals and has written chapters in various textbooks.
Dr. Militello believes that the patient comes first. His mission is to provide the most up to date, evidence-based care in a compassionate and caring manner.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
