He is Professor of Medicine and Clinical Director of the James P. Mara Center for lung disease, a "Center of Excellence" for alpha-1 antitrypsin and COPD. His other interests include asthma, pulmonary sarcoidosis and pulmonary hypertension. He is also director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and Pulmonary function laboratories at both St. Luke’s and West. He has participated in a number of clinical treatment trials in asthma, COPD (including alpha-1), bronchiectasis and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. Eden has a strong interest in teaching. He was director of the training program for Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West (formerly Roosevelt) for over 20 years. He also teaches third-year medical students from The Mount Sinai Hospital in NY.

Dr. Edward Eden's research interests include investigation of lung-related illnesses, disorders and treatments. He has served as the principal investigator for various projects, including with the Alpha-1 Foundation on targeted detection of alpha-1 antitrypsis deficiency in patients with COPD, and with the COPD Foundation on a bronchiectasis registry consortium. He was also co-investigator for research of HIV infection in alveolar macrophages, and co-investigator for a study of the national registry of patients with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency-related emphysema.
Bronchiectasis Research Registry
The purpose of the Bronchiectasis Research Registry is to identify a group of people who are interested in receiving information about research studies focused on bronchiectasis and/or non-tuberculosis mycobacterium and possibly participating in these studies.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
Dr.Eden did not report having any of the following types of financial relationships with industry during 2017 and/or 2018: consulting, scientific advisory board, industry-sponsored lectures, service on Board of Directors, participation on industry-sponsored committees, equity ownership valued at greater than 5% of a publicly traded company or any value in a privately held company. Please note that this information may differ from information posted on corporate sites due to timing or classification differences.
Mount Sinai's faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
Physicians who provide services at hospitals and facilities in the Mount Sinai Health System might not participate in the same health plans as those Mount Sinai hospitals and facilities (even if the physicians are employed or contracted by those hospitals or facilities).
Information regarding insurance participation and billing by this physician may be found on this page, and can also be obtained by contacting this provider directly. Because physicians insurance participation can change, the insurance information on this page may not always be up-to-date. Please contact this physician directly to obtain the most up-to-date insurance information.
