Biography
Dr. Yang is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery with Mount Sinai School of Medicine. A graduate of the New York University School of Medicine in 1982, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the NYU - Hospital for Joint Diseases-Orthopaedic Institute in New York City in 1987. In 1990, he was appointed Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Elmhurst Hospital Center. In 2009 he was made Regional Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Elmhurst and Queens Medical Centers. He presently maintains that position in addition to his orthopaedic practice at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
He has been a member of the Mount Sinai faculty since 1989 and his practice includes the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries (fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains). He also specializes in total joint replacement and skeletal reconstruction (nonunions and malunions). He has published many peer reviewed articles in these areas.
He is board certified and recertified twice by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Yang is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Academic Orthopaedic Society, American Fracture Association and Chinese American Medical Society. He is an Honorary Police Surgeon for the New York Police Dept.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
