Biography
Dr. Andrew Rosen received his undergraduate bachelor of Arts degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then returned to his home state for medical school at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr Rosen then completed a Sports Medicine and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at the Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center.
Dr. Rosen is certified as board eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has attained Subspeciliaty Certification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Rosen is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters regarding sports injuries, trauma and joint replacement. Dr. Rosen has given talks and presented papers at several national meetings, including the annual American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery meeting.
Dr. Rosen himself is an active marathon runner, and uses his personal knowledge of running to provide treatment to many patients with running-related injuries and training problems. Dr Rosen was the Team Leader for the Elite Runner Medical Team for the 2009 ING NYC Marathon. He lectures regularly on running - related inguries and their management.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
