The Garcia Family finds comfort in thinking their husband and father lives on through others

Mr. Julio Garcia donated an unusually large number of organs. NY Organ Donor Network coordinated the transplants and hosted the family and recipients at an emotional meeting.

A family finds comfort in thinking their husband and father lives on through others. Seven or eight other people who urgently needed transplants received organs from Mr. Julio Garcia, an unusually large number. The average from organ donors is about three. Mr. Garcia died from a brain hemorrhage in March 2010, at the age of 38. New York Organ Donor Network coordinated the transplants and hosted the Garcia family and a group of recipients at an emotional meeting.
