Even in your most joyous times, such as the birth of children, the Mount Sinai Women's Health Program is there to enhance your experience. Our physicians and staff will help you identify an obstetrician who is ideal for you, whether you're expecting an uneventful pregnancy or are considered high risk.
Starting with pre-conception counseling, you can receive advanced prenatal services, including 3- and 4-D ultrasound for excellent fetal imaging, screening, diagnosis and fetal therapy if required. You may also want to meet with one of Mount Sinai's internationally recognized geneticists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, obstetricians specializing in high-risk deliveries, and obstetrical anesthesiologists.
When it's time to give birth, you will receive the highest level care in the Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder Center for Maternity Care. This modern, family-oriented center features 14 labor and delivery rooms, three operating rooms, cozy mother-baby suites, and both general and neonatal intensive care nurseries.
Urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders can be difficult to talk about making it challenging to get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. But your Women's Health Program Coordinator can direct you right to the services you need. We provide a variety of diagnostic procedures as well as medical therapies and surgical interventions. Symptoms may include abnormal urinary function and/or vaginal or uterine prolapse. This is not uncommon after childbirth or with aging.
Gynecologic Oncology (Cancer)
If you are at high risk for gynecological cancers, your Women's Health Program Coordinator can help coordinate thorough screenings with our gynecologic oncologists. If you have a personal history of gynecologic cancer (such as uterine or ovarian) your Coordinator and your primary care physician will help you find and schedule an appointment with a gynecological oncologist who is best qualified to care for your condition.
