Women & Children's Health Services at Mount Sinai
The Women & Children's Services at Mount Sinai are leaders in providing all aspects of care to mothers-to-be and their family members and children. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and provide you with all the necessary education and services to help you and you're your family prepare for your baby's birth.
This is accomplished through patient and family-centered care and the utilization of multiple resources – including various wellness amenities- at Mount Sinai. Outreach to the community is also a core element of our services, as it is pivotal in the restoration and maintenance of women's health. Through an interdisciplinary family-centered approach, the Women's Center provides mothers and their families with exceptional care, treatment, and education, which enable them to return to the homes and maintain health. This includes the following:
• Childbirth preparation classes (several offered in Spanish, as well as English)
• Optional private rooms
• Primary nursing, coordinating care through collaboration.
• Private duty nursing
• A caring and friendly, family-centered environment.
• An atmosphere for optimal adjustment, growth, and development of our patients and their families.

• Preoperative preparation for your child's surgery

Our Facilities and Programs
Mount Sinai's Obstetrics and Gynecology program is one of the largest in New York and serves a diverse population. Nurses, physicians, and midwives facilitate special deliveries in our labor/delivery/recovery rooms (LDRs).
The Pediatric program was among the first in the nation in a general hospital and continues to be a leader in the provision of medical care to children. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Pediatric ICU care for critically ill children, and our pediatric transplant services are among the top pediatric transplant programs in the world. We offer an extensive array of programs and services including, the Breastfeeding Program, School Based Health Program, Reach out and read, Parent health education, and parent-to-parent mentoring programs. Social workers and Child Life specialists also collaborate with families to meet the needs of children receiving care. Caring, compassion and evidence-based primary nursing are the hallmarks of the practice.
The Lauder Center for Maternity Care
The Mount Sinai Hospital is pleased to announce its newest addition, the Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder Center for Maternity Care. Complimenting Mount Sinai's longstanding tradition of excellence in family-centered maternal-child health care, the Lauder Center sets a new standard for comfort in hospital-based postpartum care. The Center integrates the principles of health and well-being with spa design and full-service amenities.
