Mount Sinai has a long-standing and distinguished history in the treatment of aneurysms and endovascular repair. Michael L. Marin, MD, Professor of Vascular Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Surgery, was the first in the United States to perform a minimally invasive endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, incorporating the endovascular stent graft device. Since then, Dr. Marin has revolutionized vascular surgery by patenting more than a dozen endovascular stent-graft devices, which have widely been used across the globe for more than 20 years.
