Overview

The Musculoskeletal Program at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center provides comprehensive care for a wide variety of conditions affecting the muscles, bones and joints. These include arthritis, tendonitis, osteoporosis, joint replacement, post-surgical and cumulative trauma disorders as well as sport and exercise-related injuries. The aim of the Musculoskeletal Program is to help patients regain strength, mobility, flexibility and functional independence following debilitating injury or illness.

The recovery process begins with a comprehensive evaluation by one of our physiatrists to determine the best course of treatment pertaining to the patient's diagnosis. The Musculoskeletal Program’s integral relationship with The Mount Sinai Medical Center enables our patients to receive the highest standard of rehabilitative care in close consultation with their referring physician as well as Mount Sinai’s entire staff of board-certified physiatrists, pain specialists, physical therapists and other rehabilitative professionals.

Throughout the entire recovery process, the patient remains the central member of the treatment team, and he or she can count on the rehabilitation team to provide the following services:
