The Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center offers services to individuals with various impairments of the upper limbs, including the hands, which may have been caused by injury or disease. We provide comprehensive and specialized services for patients with various problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tendonitis, repetitive stress injuries, peripheral nerve damage and fractures. The aim of the Hand Therapy Program is to help patients regain strength, dexterity, pain relief and functional independence following injury or illness affecting the hands or upper limbs. Occupational therapists, who are board certified hand therapists, design and implement individualized treatment plans for a wide range of acute, post-surgical, and chronic conditions involving the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

Treatment plans may include design and fabrication of custom made orthotics for a variety of conditions involving nerves, muscles, joints, and bones.

Treatment of a wide variety of diagnostic conditions, including fractures of the upper extremity, shoulder dislocations, carpal/cubital tunnel syndrome, arthritis, De Quervain's Syndrome, tendonitis, and wound care.
