Bereavement Program

Grief is the normal emotional response to a loss that can include physical and emotional distress. It is also a healing process that is unique and different for each person, even those within the same family. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, nor is there a set time limit.

The Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute provides bereavement support to families and friends who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We offer in-person or telephone sessions for supportive counseling during this time. We are also able to connect you with services and support groups within the community for additional and continued support during the mourning and grieving process. We recognize that loss is painful and no one should have to go through it alone.

In addition to supportive counseling, we hold a twice-annual (autumn and spring) memorial service.
