New York Times - Dr. James Gladstone: “No Structural Damage in Anthony’s Sore Knee”

Carmelo Anthony was back in New York on Thursday, confronting a long needle and a cranky knee that has undermined a once-glorious Knicks season. ”Fluid buildup is generally caused by irritation, although the Knicks have not explained what caused the irritation in Anthony’s case. Possible causes include sprains, cartilage damage, a meniscal tear or a partial ligament tear,” said Dr. James Gladstone, the co-chief of sports medicine at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
