Conditions We Treat
The Center for Neuromodulation at Mount Sinai utilizes the latest technologies in neurosurgery to treat a variety of conditions, from chronic pain to refractory psychiatric disorders, with the goal of restoring lost function in patients or to prevent further neurodegenerative decline.
Our team of experts applies new techniques such as deep brain stimulation and other traditional approaches in neurosurgery, such as spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal drug delivery to treat:
- Chronic pain conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, glossopharyngeal neuralgia as well as other facial pain syndromes
- Cancer-related pain
- Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
- Dystonia
- Epilepsy
- Essential tremor
- Failed back syndrome
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Parkinson's disease
- Tourette's disorder
The Center for Neuromodulation takes a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, often collaborating with other departments such as neurology, psychiatry and pain management to provide patients with comprehensive, quality care.
