Transient Dialysis for Traveling Patients

Mount Sinai's Kidney Center is pleased to offer transient hemodialysis services to traveling patients visiting New York City who need both chronic and acute therapy for kidney disease. With flexible scheduling, a multilingual staff and translation service, competitive pricing, and an emphasis on privacy and confidentiality, our Center provides visiting patients with the highest possible level of care.

Team Treatment for Transient Dialysis

International and traveling patients interested in coming to Mount Sinai for dialysis can start by contacting our transient dialysis social worker and financial specialist to make arrangements including scheduling, transmitting doctor's orders, coordinating any necessary medications, and initiating payment. Our staff individually assists each patient (or patient's social worker or medical team) through each step of the process to ensure a seamless transition in care.

Our transient dialysis services are provided by a team of licensed, registered nurses and on-site physicians. These services are enhanced by the Kidney Center's home within the Mount Sinai Health System, which gives our patients access to the full range of unrivaled care throughout the hospital.

Mount Sinai's Kidney Center also helps our own dialysis patients who plan to travel elsewhere by coordinating therapy with a facility at their destination.

Convenient Transient Dialysis Hours and Locations

Mount Sinai is pleased to offer convenient hours for transient dialysis Monday through Saturday in the following four time slots:

  • 6 am – 10 am
  • 10 am – 2 pm

We offer transient dialysis at two Upper East Side locations that are convenient to all transportation (FDR Drive, bus, and number 6 subway line). Each location strives to make our patients' time with us as pleasant as possible by providing free WiFi and TV's at each station.

With an expert, on-site dialysis team, easily-accessible facilities, and extended hours, Mount Sinai's Kidney Center is pleased to provide compassionate and convenient care for our international and traveling patients.
