Must be accompanied by a parent of the infant

Siblings

  • A brother or sister of an infant may visit by special arrangement with the NICU social workers or nurses
  • A sibling must be at least 2 years old to visit and must pass a health screening by one of the NICU doctors
  • A parent must accompany and supervise siblings during the visit
  • Children other than siblings may not visit

Patient Care/Medical Staff Rounds
We will ask all visitors to wait outside in the lounge near the elevators during the following times. This is in order to ensure that information about the infants under our care remains private and secure.

  • Patient care rounds:
    • 6:45am to 8:00am
    • 6:45pm to 8:00pm
  • Medical staff rounds:
    • 8:30am to Noon – limited visiting

Parents and other visitors may be asked to leave the NICU for a time during staff rounds or patient/NICU activities.

Special Needs Visits
You may make arrangements by speaking with the primary nurse or social worker.

Traveling to Mount Sinai

Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, between Madison and Fifth Avenue and East 98th and 102th Street, Mount Sinai is easily accessible by all public transportation and by car.

By Bus

From the North: Fifth Avenue buses Ml,2,3,or 4 stop at 99th Street

From the South: Madison Avenue buses M1,2,3,or 4 stop at 98th Street

By Subway

Take the Lexington Avenue Line (#6) to 96th Street and Lexington Avenue. Walk west to 96th Street to Fifth Avenue and north on Fifth Avenue to Mount Sinai.

By Car

From Brooklyn: Take the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (North) to Grand Central Parkway (West) and the Triborough Bridge to the FDR Drive. Exit at 96th Street and turn right on Madison Avenue.

From Long Island and Queens: Take the Grand Central Parkway (West) and the Triborough Bridge to the FDR Drive. Exit at 96th Street and turn right on Madison Avenue.

From Staten Island: Take the Verrazano Bridge to Brooklyn Queens Expressway (North) to Grand Central Parkway (West) and the Triborough Bridge to the FDR Drive. Exit at 96th Street and turn right on Madison Avenue.

From Westchester and Connecticut: Take the New England Thruway (95 South) and the Triborough Bridge to the FDR Drive. Exit at 96th Street and turn right on Madison Avenue.

From New Jersey: Take the George Washington Bridge to the Harlem River Drive! FDR Drive (South). Exit at 96th Street and turn right on Madison Avenue.
