Ralph Maldari, MS
Director of Hospital Operations
Ralph Maldari joined the Mount Sinai team in 2011 to develop, oversee, and align strategies to create a world class experience for patients and their families. He was also tasked with developing and implementing amenity medical unit Eleven West, which combines the best practices of medical care and customer service. A health care and hospitality leader and strategist, Maldari had been previously employed by New York University Langone Medical Center and Columbia University Medical Center. His hospitality experience includes appointments under Hoteliers’ Ian Schrager and Donald Trump in the U.S. and at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club (formerly a Mandarin Oriental Property) in Phuket, Thailand. Maldari studied hospitality services, communications, and fundraising and development at New York University and Columbia University, receiving his Master’s in Hospitality Industry Studies from NYU.
Katie Ip, MSN, RN
Clinical Nurse Manager
Katie Ip MSN, RN, works to promote and restore her patients’ health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area, directing and developing staff, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support for patients and their loved ones. She has been working with Eleven West since receiving her Master of Science in Nursing degree in May 2011. She previously worked as a hospital staff nurse and then as clinical coordinator. She received her nursing degree in 2004.
Stelian Serban, MD
Director of the Acute and Chronic Inpatient Pain Service

Dr. Stelian Serban graduated the Anesthesiology Residency Program at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and completed the Pain Fellowship Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center in 2005. Immediately after graduating this Program, he joined the Icahn School of Medicine where initially, in 2007, he was promoted to the position of Chief of the Acute and Chronic Pain Service followed by Pain Medicine Fellowship Program Director and Interim Director of Pain Medicine Division in 2008. Dr. Serban is an active member of the Hospital Board Pain Medicine Committee and Performance Improvement Committee as part of Department of Anesthesiology.
Juliet DaSilva-Inniss, MS
