Welcome

In 1852, a group of nine men founded a humble community hospital with the admirable goal of treating the sick and making them well. Over the past 155 years, the generous, visionary, and sustained support from individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations has helped to mold The Mount Sinai Medical Center into a renowned biomedical leader that has garnered worldwide accolades and respect. Throughout the course of its evolution as a hospital and the birth of its innovative medical school, Mount Sinai has bolstered its ties to the community and remains devoted to fulfilling the noble vision of its founders.

At Mount Sinai, our brilliant clinicians, researchers, faculty, and students understand that compassionate, comprehensive patient care begins in the lab and in the classroom, with the inventive and daring exploration of science. We approach medical challenges with creativity and kindness and dedicate our unwavering efforts to translating bold medical breakthroughs into immediate improvements in the quality of care we provide for our patients.

As we forge ahead into the promising landscape of 21st century medicine, the philanthropic involvement of our family, friends, and supporters will be vital in enabling Mount Sinai to remain at the forefront of discovery, so that we can continue to offer our patients the most effective prevention and treatment.

We hope that you will reflect on Mount Sinai’s role, past, present, and possible, as a pioneer of groundbreaking research, education, and clinical care—and that you will decide to partner with us as we pursue our great, enduring mission.

Sincerely,
Peter May
Chair of the Board
