Fred R. Hirsch, MD, PhD, Executive Director of the multidisciplinary Center for Thoracic Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, directs the Center of Excellence for Thoracic Oncology. Dr. Hirsch is an internationally renowned authority on lung cancer treatment and research with more than 25 years of experience. He has a special focus on targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and early detection of lung cancer.  Dr. Hirsch is also Associate Director of Biomarker Discovery at The Tisch Cancer Institute. He has published more than 400 scientific publications on several scientific aspects of lung cancer. A long-time advocate of lung health, Dr. Hirsch was honored as the "Lung Cancer Hero 2020" by CURE Magazine and MJH Life Sciences.
