About Your Visit

Our staff looks forward to your appointment at the Lauder Family Cardiovascular Ambulatory Center at Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital. Please take a look at the following guidelines in order to make your time with us as pleasant and productive as possible.

Before and During Your Visit

Be sure to bring any necessary information, including insurance card(s), a referral (if required by your insurance company), a list of any medications you take and dosages, and any records or results from other physicians. We appreciate your efforts to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment so we can start the registration process.

When you get here, please sign in at the front desk, where the staff will provide you with any necessary forms and let the medical assistant know you have arrived. We will also give you a Visit Guide, in which you can write issues you want to bring up with your physician and take notes on the important information your doctor provides.

To ensure that your visit will be covered under your insurance policy, we will also confirm your personal information. If your insurance company requires a referral, please present it to the front desk staff. We collect any co-pays or other fees required by your insurance at this time, and we accept all major credit cards.

We know your time is valuable and we make every effort to see you at your scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, at times, emergencies, complications, and other issues may lead to unexpected delays. If your physician is running more than 15 minutes late, our staff will let you know the expected wait time.

Once you are in the exam room, a medical assistant will ask you preliminary questions and record your vital signs. If your physician orders tests during your appointment, the timing of the results may vary widely depending on their nature and complexity. Please ask when you should expect to get the results.

After Your Visit

We are pleased to offer our patients a dedicated call center. If you need to speak with your physician between visits, please allow up to 24 hours for us to return a non-urgent call. Your physician’s medical secretary can help with prescription refills. Allow one business day for us to contact your pharmacy.

If you need a referral or authorization for a procedure, please allow three business days for processing. Forms completed by your physician may take up to two weeks.

If you have any concerns regarding any aspect of your visit, please call 855-MSHEART (1-855-674-3278) and ask to speak with the practice manager.

Your health is important to us around the clock, not just during office hours. That's why we offer a patient portal, MyMountSinai. With this online connection to your doctor's office, you can request prescription refills, review your health history, and more—online, any time.
