For his leadership, the Center is dedicated in honor of Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, President of Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital and Physician-in-Chief of The Mount Sinai Hospital. His devotion to excellence in patient care is shared by his fellow members of the Center’s leadership team, who together include:

Dr. Fuster also serves as Director of the Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute and the Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Center for Cardiovascular Health, and the Richard Gorlin, MD/Heart Research Foundation Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Beyond Mount Sinai, the many positions he has held include those of President of the American Heart Association, President of the World Heart Federation, member of the Institute of Medicine of the US National Academy of Sciences (where he chaired the Committee for the document on "promotion of cardiovascular health worldwide), member of the US National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and President of the Training Program of the American College of Cardiology.

Since 2009, Dr. Sweeny has been a leading interventional cardiologist at the world-renowned Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Cardiology, at Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai. He specializes in patient care and research in the field of interventional cardiology. He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. He currently serves as The Hospital's Director of the Cardiology Telemetry Nurse Practitioner Service and Associate Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program.

Haydee directs, supervises, and coordinates all administrative, clinical functions, and operations for the large, outpatient facility to ensure high quality care and a positive and personalized healthcare experience for each of the Center's hundreds of patients daily.
