The Department of Social Work Services at The Mount Sinai Hospital offers a unique employment opportunity in a world class hospital setting. A core element in the provision of care at the Hospital, The Department of Social Work Services offers a wide range of positions that span patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics, and medical areas as diverse as oncology, psychiatry and transplantation. The Department of Social Work Services is an accredited New York State Continuing Education (CE) provider and offers a variety of internal educational opportunities for CEs including a monthly Social Work Grand Rounds. Internships

In accordance with the Council on Social Work Education guidelines, the Department of Social Work Services provides second year internships for master’s level social work students. Under the supervision of licensed social workers, students attain a level of competence necessary for responsible professional practice. Training is consonant with the educational goals of the schools of social work. Learning opportunities are offered in all program/service areas within the hospital as well as special community-based programs. The Department of Social Work Services has affiliate agreements for placement with many schools of social work in New York City.
