Mount Sinai Receives The Beacon Award for Excellence

Mount Sinai’s Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) was awarded The Beacon Award for Excellence from The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Learn more about this recognition

Mount Sinai has long been one of the world’s most respected institutions, with outstanding nurses known for their excellence in patient care delivery. We are also recognized for our collaborative environment – where nurses can reach their maximum potential as clinical leaders, working alongside all members of the health care team who are second to none.

Our nurses have earned the prestigious Magnet honor, first in 2004 with re-designation in 2009 – a recognition held by only 6% of U.S. Hospitals. The exemplary quality of our patient care has contributed to Mount Sinai’s rankings in more specialties than ever before, in U.S. News &World Report’s “Best Hospitals.”

In addition, The Center for Nursing Research and Education (CNRE) is an important new center in the Icahn School of Medicine where nurses play an integral role in bringing their experience and insights into the process of research.

These are some of the things that make Mount Sinai exceptional.
