Adolescent Health

The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (AHC) provides confidential comprehensive medical, mental health, reproductive health and family planning, and health education services to adolescents between the ages of 10-21. Social workers serve as vital members of the center's multidisciplinary team, providing counseling and treatment to adolescents and their families. They bring special training and sensitivity to over 20 support groups offered by the center around such issues as HIV infection, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, teen parenting, violence prevention, and eating disorders. Social workers also provide treatment at AHC’s two school-based clinics and 12 community-based mental health / health education programs.
