In accordance with the Council on Social Work Education guidelines, the Department of Social Work Services provides internships for second year master level social work students. Under the supervision of trained social workers, students attain a level of competence necessary for responsible professional practice. Training is consonant with the educational goals of the schools of social work. Learning opportunities are offered in all service areas within the health care system as well as special community-based programs. The Department of Social Work Services has affiliate agreements for placement with Columbia University, Fordham University, Hunter College and New York University.
