A Clinical Trial comparing cangrelor to clopidogrel in subjects who require percutaneous coronary intervention

This study is to demonstrate the efficacy of cangrelor compared to plavix in subjects requiring percutaneous coronary intervention (stent placement). All subjects have their follow-ups at 48-hour, 30 days and at 12 months.

  • Inclusion

    1.At least 18 years of age 2.Chest pain with increased CPK & Troponin levels (cardiac enzymes are the proteins found in heart tissue which regulates various biochemical reactions in the heart) and with EKG changes
  • Exclusion

    1.Known or suspected pregnancy, or breast feeding 2.Increased bleeding risk 3.Severe hypertension not adequately controlled by blood pressure medication 4.Not a candidate for intervention 5.Allergy to plavix, cangrelor, mannitol, sorbitol or microcrystalline cellulose medications 6.Treatment with other investigational agents or devices within 30 days. 7.Inability to give informed consent or high likelihood of being unavailable for follow-up
