Open Clinical Trial

Providing Regional Observations to Study Predictors of Events in the Coronary Tree (PROSPECT). An Imaging Study in Patients with Unstable Atherosclerotic Lesions.

This is a multicenter prospective registry of subjects, who had chest pain and single or double vessel disease of the arteries of the heart. This is an imaging study to check any obstruction in the blood vessels of the heart. Approximately 700 subjects will be enrolled at 80 sites in the United States. At baseline and the follow-ups at 30 days, 180 days & 1 year the following tests will be done: a. 1-2 tablespoons of blood will be drawn for lab test. b. Questionnaires will be answered by the sujects. c. Brief physical exam.

  • Inclusion

    1.Patient must be at least 18 years of age. 2.Chest pain lasting more than 10 minutes duration within the past 72 hours. 3.Elevated enzymes (CK-MB or Troponin I or Troponin T more than upper limits of normal) and EKG changes. 4.Patient must agree to undergo all follow-up examinations. 5.All patients must be willing to undergo a blood draw for series of lab tests.
  • Exclusion

    1.Patient has had a heart attack within the past 24 hours. 2.Kidney disease/problems 3.Patient has had a recent intervention within 6 months 4.Patient has known hypersensitivity and allergy to Aspirin, Heparin, both Plavix and Ticlid. 5.Patient has experienced a significant gastrointestinal (GI) or urinary bleed within the past 6 months. 6.Patient suffered a stroke within the past 6 months. 7.Pregnant or nursing patients and those who plan pregnancy in the period up to 1 year.
