The Department of Preventive Medicine, at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine is looking to hire a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Division of Environmental Health.
The candidate will report directly to the Division Head and will participate in research studies based at Mount Sinai in Children's Environmental Health. They will assist in expanding the exposure assessment component to measures of air pollution. You will be provided with laboratory work space for work on metals and epigenetics. The Division laboratory will be at your disposal for analysis of metals and organic compounds, as well as elemental mapping, DNA methylation and miRNA. Duties include regular meetings with the Division head, attendance at Division/Department research conferences, analyzing data/writing manuscripts, assisting in grant preparation, travel to research sites (with expenses covered by the Division Head) and conferences. We will provide training in the assessment and study of children's health and development and environmental health. It is our hope that this work will lead to a NIH career development award application on which you are PI within 2-3 years. Participation is solely for the purposes of research. No element of patient care services will be involved.
This offer is for a 2 year commitment. Additional years may be added at the discretion of the department.
