The Division of Psychiatric Genomics in the Department of Psychiatry is a multi-discipline research division at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. The Division is focused on deciphering the genetic causes of debilitating psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, autism and bipolar disorder with the end goal of developing novel treatments for these disorders. We actively collaborate with members of the research community at Mt. Sinai, including the Institute for Genomics and Multi-scale Biology, the Friedman Brain Institute, the Departments of Psychiatry, Genetics and Genomic Sciences, Neuroscience, and others, as well as with various institutions and consortia throughout the U.S. and the world.
As part of this dynamic group, the post-doctoral research fellow will pursue biological follow-up of emerging genetic and genomic findings in psychiatric disease. The successful candidate should have experience in lab-based work including molecular cell biology, developmental biology (e.g., in utero electroporation), cell imaging, gene expression, proteomics, mouse model generation, induced pluripotent stem cells and/or mouse behavioral studies.
We seek a highly motivated and dedicated M.D. or Ph.D. in molecular biology, cellular neurobiology or related areas with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Ideally this candidate will interact with the PI to to pursue biological follow-up of emerging genetic and genomic findings in psychiatric disease.

Some expertise with genetic software preferred.
Strong training in a wide variety of molecular techniques, including: molecular cloning, gene expression, cell biology, and additional methods of functional analyses.
Strong communication and writing skills.
