Post-doctoral position for studying genetic and gene regulation mechanisms related to drug addiction disorders. Candidates should have experience in gene regulation mechanisms (transcriptional and epigenetic) relevant to neurodevelopment and/or drug addiction vulnerability as well as genetics. Knowledge of molecular methodologies such as as quantitative PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, in situ hybridization histochemistry, and DNA microarray and RNA sequencing. Knowledge of studying protein interations using biochemical approaches in relation to mammalian models is also beneficial as well as computational abilities. Strong experimental and theoretical skills are important as well as good organizational, writing and communicative skills.
Candidate will be responsible for carrying out various molecular and biochemical assays including ChiP, quantitative PCR, RNA-seq, in situ hybridization histochemistry, western blot and proteomics on postmortem brain specimens from human drug abusers and animal models of addiction. They will be responsible for carrying out statisticala analysis and presentation of their data. The candidate will be responsible for supervising laboratory assistant and graduate students.
