The Division of Psychiatric Genomics in the Department of Psychiatry is a new, multi-discipline research division at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. The Division is focused on deciphering the genetic causes of debilitating psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, autism and bipolar disorder with the end goal of developing novel treatments for these disorders. We actively collaborate with members of the research community at Mt. Sinai, including the new Institute for Genomics and Multi-scale Biology, the Friedman Brain Institute, the Departments of Psychiatry, Genetics and Genomic Sciences, Neuroscience, and others, as well as with various institutions and consortia throughout the U.S. and the world.
As part of this dynamic group, the post-doctoral research fellow will pursue biological follow-up of emerging genetic and genomic findings in psychiatric disease using induced pluripotent stem cell based in vitro models of disease. The successful candidate should have experience in lab-based work including induced pluripotent stem cells, developmental biology (e.g., in utero electroporation), cell imaging, molecular cell biology, gene expression, proteomics, mouse model generation, and/or mouse behavioral studies.
We seek a highly motivated and dedicated M.D. or Ph.D. in molecular biology, cellular neurobiology or related areas with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Ideally this candidate will interact with the PI to to pursue biological follow-up of emerging genetic and cellular findings in psychiatric disease.

Strong training in a wide variety of cellular and molecular techniques, including: tissue culture, neural differentiation, viral transuction, cell biology, molecular cloning, gene expression, and additional methods of functional analyses.
