The incumbent works in the research laboratory, which includes performing research experiments, analyzing the data, and participating in writing research papers. The work requires training in neuroscience and of molecular biology, as well as fluency in performing a number of molecular assays.
Performing microdissection of specific brain areas using a microscope (Leica AS LMD (Leica Microsystems).
Performing extraction of RNA and DNA from various tissues.
Performing RNA editing assays.
Performing DNA methylation assays.
Performing histone-modification assays
Writing research papers
PhD in Neurochemistry or Neuroscience
At least 5 years in research environment, and at least 3 years in performing molecular assays.
MS Word-Intermediate; Excel-Intermediate, Power Point- Intermediate.
Knowledge of the principles of a biological science and specific principles of molecular biology/biochemistry in order to operate complex equipment.
Knowledge of the common procedures and technical terminology in general use in the laboratory.
