Postdoctoral Fellow position available in the laboratory of internationally recognized investigator in the Department of Microbiology. The focus of this position is on development of influenza virus vaccines and antivirals. Other projects may include studying pathogenicity, transmission, and immunology of influenza viruses. This Postdoctoral Fellow will work and train in the laboratory and conduct research under the investigator's supervision.
As a postdoctoral fellow, you will play a critical role in generating and fostering a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research environment that serves to advance medical knowledge daily. Postdoctoral fellows gain research experience by working side-by-side with world-renowned physicians and scientists who are answering fundamental questions related to human conditions, disorders and disease. Appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at Mount Sinai is extended only to individuals with doctoral degrees who seek to enhance their research experience under the mentorship of a faculty member (Principal Investigator, PI). This is a "trainee" position, and is not a faculty position. A background or interest in microbiology, virology, immunology, and molecular biology is preferred. Experience in tissue culture techniques an advantage.
