The Translational and Molecular Imaging Institute (TMII) at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a post-doctoral scholar to develop novel quantitative MRI techniques with a focus in neuroimaging. This is an excellent opportunity to conduct innovative MR research with access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment housed in the new Hess Center for Science and Medicine.
The neuroimaging program will utilize cutting-edge instrumentation, including multiple research-dedicated Siemens scanners (7T, 3T, hybrid 3T MR/PET), among other instruments. These imaging capabilities are part of a new 30,000 sq ft state-of-the-art imaging facility.
Possible research projects include: (1) accelerated quantitative MRI and MRS methods for brain (3T and 7T), (2) functional assessment of spinal cord and nerve roots (3T), and (3) quantitative imaging of retina and optic nerve (3T and 7T).
The candidate should have a PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field, and should have a strong background in MR physics and experiences in quantitative analysis. The candidate should also demonstrate independent research capability through publications. Experiences with Siemens IDEA/ICE programming environment are highly desirable but not necessary. Proficiency with C/C++ and/or Matlab programming language is expected. Familiarity with Python and/or R programming language, and neuroimaging analysis software (e.g. FSL, AFNI, SPM, Freesurfer, Caret, etc.) is a plus.
