Performs short-term and long-term biostatistical consultations with clinical investigators. Analyzes research data using basic and advanced statistical methodologies, interprets results for clinical investigators, and prepares reports Writes methods sections and analysis plans for incorporation into protocols, abstracts, manuscripts and grants
Assists in database design programming and database management Contributes to teaching biostatistical methodology to medical students, residents, fellows and other staff
A Bachelor's degree in biostatistics or statistics; a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in health care data analysis. Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures within Biostatistics. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Able to lead and collaborate with others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Proficient in SAS or R programming for statistical analysis and data manipulations is essential;
Ability to understand and interpret complex mathematical/statistical problems.
Strong understanding of observational study process from design and inception to data acquisition to data reporting.
Application experience in occupational or environmental epidemiology desirable; especially good to know survival analysis, longitudinal mixed models, and logistic regression. Experience in Bayesian analysis a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Must possess excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism, sense of humor, and ability to interact effectively with staff and management alike; ability to verbally communicate effectively.
Experience in authoring manuscripts, SOPs, clinical documents and templates.
Ability to multi-task and interface with team members who are working under deadlines; ability to set priorities and excellent organizational planning, project management and time management skills.
