Responsible for overseeing the daily activities of technicians who perform International radiology procedures. The incumbent ensures the accuracy and completeness of work assignments and adequate coverage and training of the technicians. This individual also ensures adherence to department procedures, state and local regulations
Duties and Responsibilities
(in order of importance and/or frequency)
1.Plans, organizes and oversees the work of assigned radiology technicians who perform routine and special procedures. Establishes work priorities and assignments in response to patient load or equipment availability.
2.Maintains and adjusts work schedules to assure adequate staff coverage.
3.Monitors the work of the technicians to ensure conformance to radiology procedures and safety requirements.
4.Ensures equipment in assigned areas is maintained in good operating condition and recommends repairs as needed. Performs monthly quality control testing in each radiolographic room.
5.Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of the department's policies and procedures.
6.Maintains an adequate level of approved supplies needed to perform radiology procedures. Participates in evaluating quality and cost-effectiveness of new or replacement supplies.
7.Develops and maintains a collaborative working relationship with physicians and patient care departments. Exchanges information, resolve problems such as lost radiology film and exchange ideas for improving services.
8.Manages various personnel functions such as hiring, performance appraisals, coaching, disciplinary actions and terminations.
9.Performs duties of the radiology technicians as staffing and/or workload dictates.
10.Performs other related duties.
Graduate of an accredited AMA or J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
Minimum of 5 years of angiographic suite or C arm, operating room experience with knowledge in sterile techniques.
A minimum of 3 years experience in Interventional Radiology or Neuroradiology.
Familiar with the various interventions, arterial, transvenous, scelrotherapy, etc.
Must have in depth knowledge of INR, IR pediatric and adult endovascular devices.
Be familiar with the various diseases related to INR, INR pediatric and IR of maxillofacial vascular lesions in pediatrics and adults.
Be familiar with vascular anatomy of the cerebral and H&N circulations.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of general anatomy physiology, cross sectional
Anatomy, positioning and imaging techniques. Ability to work well as a team member performing complex radiographic examinations.
Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel.
New York State License (L.R.T.). ARRT Certification. Current certification in CPR.
