About the Interboro RHIO, Inc.
The Interboro Regional Health Information Organization, Interboro RHIO, is a clinical data exchange serving New York City, which facilitates the sharing of patient information between authorized health care providers at the point of care.
The Interboro RHIO currently has a position available for a Director of Operations.
The Director of Operations-a member of the senior management team-is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Interboro RHIO's operations and compliance with New York State's policy guidance for health information exchange (HIE). In addition to assessing performance and compliance, the Director of Operations works with Interboro RHIO staff and its member organizations to develop and implement continuous improvement plans.
This role reports directly to the RHIO Executive Director and works closely with Interboro RHIO's member services and applications management departments, the New York eHealth Collaborative, software vendor(s), and participating providers.
Responsibilities to include:
Oversight and coordination of day to day operations including:
Delivery of technical and member services
Coordinating HIE adoption and support activities
Managing membership communications
Reporting to NYSDOH and other agencies/organizations
Developing and implementing plans to evaluate and measure the organization's compliance with policies.
Conducting periodic operational assessments
Developing and implementing plans for continuous performance improvement
Assessment of organizational processes and structures to ensure compliance with State policies and regulations, including:
Review and update of agreements with participating providers in the HIE
Review and update of organizational policies and processes related to the governance of the HIE
(e.g. policies and processes regarding data access and use, contracting, participant on-boarding, user authorization and training, ongoing user management, etc.)
Position will also participate in the overall management and direction of the RHIO, including:
Participation in Statewide Collaboration Activities
BA, ( Masters preferred)
3-4 years' experience in healthcare administration or consulting with experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning, operations, operational assessments, quality improvement, regulatory compliance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
Project management experience
Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security standards
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Excellent follow-through skills, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, issues, and priorities effectively and simultaneously with attention to detail
Proficient in the use of MS Office
