Communications And Marketing Manager

The Marketing and Communications Director for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science for the Mount Sinai Health System will provide the strategic marketing and communications direction to accomplish specific objectives across the entire health system including the Department's clinical divisions of Family Planning, Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Infectious and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, and Women's Health. The Director will also handle marketing/communications of the Department's research, educational and Global Health programs.
§ Work with Department Chair, Administrator and Division Directors, Faculty and Staff in the creation and execution of an integrated marketing and communications plan to create brand awareness and elevate the services of the Department to patients, healthcare professionals, media, etc.
§ Collaborate with a cross-functional group of Mount Sinai stakeholders including Marketing, Press Office, Development, Special Events, Online and Social Media Group, professionals in the execution of an integrated plan to accomplish the marketing and communications objectives and strategies for the Department.
§ Analyze industry trends, patient needs, competitive tools/tactics and opportunities for increasing growth, development and the value of the services provided by the Department.
§ Craft and evolve message platforms designed to focus marketing and communications deliverables around core values, ensuring message consistency across channels and deliverables, and brand-building initiatives.
§ Create communications tools and materials leveraging expertise within the Department to convey quantifiable value and outcomes. Direct and coordinate efforts across multiple internal and external channels to ensure deliverable dates are met.
§ Manage the writing, design and production of external communications materials including annual reports, Chair Reports, professional commentaries, brochures, emails, website and social media platforms, etc.
§ Manage individual projects within budget parameters to ensure scope does not exceed budget.
§ Ensure flexibility to accommodate ever-changing Department needs.

Requirements / Knowledge / Skills
§ Prior marketing, public relations, and/or communications experience required.
§ Ability to balance multiple large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.

§ Strong medical and creative writing skills.
§ Ability to make strategic recommendations to positively impact projects.
$ Outstanding people skills with the ability to form trusting relationships, to work collaboratively and to build personal credibility within the Department, its Divisions and Mount Sinai.
§ Good understanding of crisis and issues management.
§ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively up and down the hierarchy of Mount Sinai; with the appropriate level of detail across project teams and other stakeholders.
§ Ability to create and manage budgets to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on time.
§ BS/BA in Marketing, Communications or related field.
§ Minimum Related: 8+ years of business experience, client management, journalism, public relations, public affairs, or media relations, or marketing experience preferred in healthcare. 3+ years of marketing management experience preferred.
