Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitates patient flow within the Admitting area regardless of entry point. Communicates with other departments on a daily basis toimprove patient flow. Physical rounds all areas of admitting including Endoscopy and address staff, patients, and families accordingly. Submits daily Admitting stats and reports to Associate Director, Director, and/or Vice President covering the area.
Maintains and updates financial accounts/buckets and participates in scheduled revenue cycle meetings. Reports reimbursement and co-pay collection to Finance on a daily basis. Develops annual departmental goals that aligns with institutional goals. Develops departmental policies and procedures and reviews withAssociate Director and/or Director. Reports complex departmental issues and concerns to Associate Director and/or Director. Work closely with Nursing, Peri-Operative Services, Bed Management, Physician Access and Transfer Services, Volunteers and Ambassadors, Doctors Offices, Clinics,Nursing Homes,Inpatient Levels, Building Services, Engineering and other ancillary departments. Participates in departmental and organizational initiatives that affect patient flow, financial reimbursement, patient/family and employee satisfaction. Review monthly budget and explain monthly variances. Recruits, trains, and evaluates performance of subordinate staff and recommends disciplinary actions to assigned staff as required. Reviews staffing/schedule plans with operational supervisor and considers budgetary targets prior to submission to Associate Director and/or Director. Reviews and approves weekly payroll. Participates in hiring process of staff. Review progress of newly hired staff with operationalsupervisor. Review staff appraisals with operationalsupervisor prior to HR submissions. Work collaboratively with labor relations, employee health, and union partners. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree Business Management or Health CareAdministration or related field preferred.
3 years supervisory experience preferred. Strong interpersonaland customer service skills. Able to troubleshoot patient/family concerns. Familiarity with medical terminology. Basic knowledge in internet searches, microsoft word, excel, power point, and web based applications. Knowledge of MSH computer applications (Cerner, PVI,Insight, Eagle, Medallion, Agile Trac a plus. Physical stamina, mental health, dexterity, visual, and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.
