The Clinical Curriculum Manager will be responsible for coordinating the various aspects of the medical school clinical curriculum. The Manager will be responsible for creating systems, ensuring appropriate communications and maintaining adherence to policies, procedures, and requirements for the clinical curriculum. The Manager will be a vital member of the Curricular Affairs team and will report to the Senior Director of Curricular and Student Affairs, while working closely with the Curriculum Co-Directors, Student Affairs Manager, the Office of Curriculum Support Manager, and the Associate Deans for Undergraduate Medical Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the clinical curriculum staff as well as the clerkship coordinators in clinical departments
Manage course support functions and course deadlines to meet the administrative needs of the curriculum division
Partner with the Senior Director to provide development opportunities for staff
Oversee site selection and management for all clinical experiences; ensure consistency across all curricular activities occurring at each site
Manage site visits and communications with all clinical sites including affiliates; Ensure sites are up to date on policies, curricular initiatives, and student feedback
Oversee curriculum administrative needs including resource needs, addressing space requirements, and communicating with clinical faculty
Partner with the Associate Deans for Undergraduate Medical Education and Directors of Global Health, Service Learning, Medical Student Electives, and Educational Technology on curriculum design, implementation, and program evaluation
Partner with the Assistant Dean for Academic Administration on the medical student compliance process, including logistics and student tracking
Partner with the Registrar to manage processes related to clerkship selection
Partner with the Student Affairs Manager to ensure compliance of grade reporting
Oversee the onboarding of new clinical teaching faculty and staff
Develop and implement projects and analyze data related to the clinical curriculum; support curriculum changes as they roll out
Design and implement ways to collect information from faculty and students for planning new curricular initiatives
Serve as the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Executive Chief Proctor for the administration of clinical shelf exams for medical students; coordinate all aspects of this process to meet NBME specifications for examinees
Serve as an integral part of the Curricular and Student Affairs operations leadership team
Create and implement policies and procedures as necessary
Perform other duties as needed.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
3+ years' experience in medical education, academic affairs, curriculum, or related field; Management or supervisory experience preferred.
