At Mount Sinai, we offer expert care to people who are in need of rehabilitation for a wide range of neurologic, orthopedic, medically complex, and post-surgical conditions. Our team of physicians, nurses and therapists work collaboratively to create a personalized treatment plan that will get you back on the road to recovery.

Mount Sinai features inpatient rehabilitation services at multiple locations across New York City including:

  • The Mount Sinai Hospital
  • Mount Sinai St. Luke’s
  • Mount Sinai West

We offer specialized rehabilitation services in the following areas:

During your stay at Mount Sinai, you will have access to specialized services from a highly-skilled, empathetic staff specially trained in the latest therapeutic treatment techniques. We offer intense, interdisciplinary rehabilitation consisting of at least three hours of therapy five days a week. Your interdisciplinary team includes:

  • Neuropsychologists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Physiatrists
  • Physical therapists
  • Rehabilitation nurses
  • Social workers
  • Speech language pathologists
  • Therapeutic recreational specialists

Admissions

The Rehab Admissions team at Mount Sinai includes nurses and therapists who, in collaboration with Rehab Medicine physicians, screen patients and facilitate admission for patients meeting inpatient rehab criteria. This includes the need for close medical management and an intensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation program. Our liaisons are available to meet with patients and their families to share information about our programs, answer any questions and provide tours so you can see first-hand the scope of services we provide.

Referrals can be made by physicians, social workers, case managers, or patients and families. The majority of our patients are admitted directly from Acute Care Hospitals, but we do occasionally review cases being referred directly from home or sub-acute care at skilled nursing facilities.

We are here and ready to receive referrals 5 days/week during regular business hours. To make a referral, please contact our Admissions office at 212-241-5417. Medical professionals can also make a referral electronically at the referring institution or via fax to 212-423-1225.

At Mount Sinai, we accept most insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, private commercial plans, workers compensation, and managed care plans.
