Mount Sinai and CityMD Announce New Partnership

  • (December 06, 2016)

Mount Sinai Health System and CityMD today announced a joint collaboration that will focus on enhancing and expanding urgent care services throughout New York. Dedicated to providing high-quality and efficient urgent care services and population health, the partnership will combine Mount Sinai’s network of providers with CityMD’s urgent and clinical care management expertise to develop a unique model that ensures patients have timely access to healthcare.

A hallmark of the program will be Mount Sinai’s ability to provide follow-up care by a specialist.  Both entities will work closely together to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and promote value-based care aimed at improving the health of the community.

“Our goal is to provide convenient and coordinated access to quality, cost-effective care at all levels,” said Kenneth L. Davis, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System. “Many Patients treated in the urgent care setting have chronic conditions that would benefit from prompt, efficient follow-up care by highly trained primary care physicians and specialists.  Mount Sinai’s vast primary and specialty care network combined with CityMD’s urgent care network will create more effective healthcare that meets the needs of New York’s diverse populations.

“We are excited to join forces with CityMD to improve the healthcare access and efficiencies for our local communities in order to advance healthcare as a whole,” said Arthur Klein, MD, President of the Mount Sinai Health Network. “This collaboration will establish a more comprehensive model that meets the full spectrum of healthcare needs of patients throughout the city.”

"We are dedicated to working with our health system partners to address the complexities around care navigation and patient engagement,” said Richard Park, MD, Chief Executive Officer of CityMD. “Mount Sinai and CityMD are committed to strengthening the continuum of care and expanding access to high quality medicine for our shared patients."

Under the collaboration:
• Both parties will establish quality metrics for a shared preferred provider network to ensure patients receive high-quality care and immediate access to specialty care when needed.
• CityMD and Mount Sinai will share electronic medical records, which will allow faster access to patient data and improved outcomes.
