The goal of The Mount Sinai Hospital’s energy management program is to make Mount Sinai more sustainable by finding opportunities to reduce the amount of electricity, natural gas, and fuel oil that the campus consumes.
Since 2009, our new energy management program at Mount Sinai has achieved outstanding gains in efficiency. In the past three years, we estimate that we have saved enough energy to take 3,000 cars off the road.

Our medical students, residents, and faculty have been a big part of this success. They have become ‘energy captains’ and have adopted the responsibility of steering their organizational department to achieve greater energy efficiency.
