About Greening Mount Sinai
The Mount Sinai Medical Center is embarking on an exciting new program, Greening Mount Sinai.
Greening Mount Sinai is an institution-wide effort led by an interdisciplinary committee of physicians, nurses, medical students, and administrators. Current projects focus on:
- Reducing waste
- Expanding recycling
- Decreasing the use of energy and water
- Purchasing sustainable products
- Educating faculty and staff on how to support these initiatives
Greening Mount Sinai enhances our medical center’s commitments to delivering outstanding clinical care, producing cutting-edge research, and offering innovative education. To accomplish these goals in a sustainable manner that respects the environment and protects human health, we have launched Greening Mount Sinai – a comprehensive initiative that seeks to implement and promote green programs throughout the medical center and in the communities we serve.
Our goal is to establish Mount Sinai as a national leader in environmental performance.
