Mount Sinai Health System Leaders to Present at 2017 Asia Health Exhibition
Mount Sinai Health System clinical and executive leaders will present at the 2017 Asia Health Exhibition to be held in Singapore, April 3-5. They will share expertise in delivering innovative, high-quality, safe, and effective health care with health care leaders from southeast Asia and around the globe.
Jeffrey Farber, MD, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Population Health, and Allan Stewart, MD, Director of Aortic Surgery and Co-director of the Valve Center in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital, and Medical Director of International Programs for Mount Sinai International, will lead a session titled “Health Care’s Cutting Edge: A Perspective on High-Value Health Care Delivery From Geriatrics to Cardiothoracic Surgery.”
Arthur Klein, MD, President of Mount Sinai Health Network and Executive Vice President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; Szabi Dorotovics, MD, President, Mount Sinai International; and Jonathan Wetzel, Director, Network Development and International Business Development, will preside over a sponsored session for health care executives from the region. This session will focus on differences and similarities among health care delivery systems around the globe and will provide an open forum for networking.

Arthur Klein, MD

Arthur A. Klein, MD, a leader in health care management, was named President of the Mount Sinai Health Network in February 2013. In this newly created role, Dr. Klein oversees the institution’s growing network of more than 150 clinical relationships, including 18 affiliated hospitals, five nursing homes, and 12 physician group practices throughout New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties. Dr. Klein also oversees national and international initiatives for Mount Sinai and serves as Executive Vice President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Executive Vice President of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Szabi Dorotovics, MD, MBA
President, Mount Sinai International
Szabi Dorotovics, MD, MBA, is a seasoned leader with more than 20 years of experience in strategic positioning, business development, and enterprise management in global health care delivery. He has brought numerous projects to operational and financial success and continues to build a large, personal network of health care executives, corporate leaders, and top government officials in Europe, Latin America, China, and the Middle East. Since 2014, he has led Mount Sinai International LLC, the organization that was established as a part of the Mount Sinai Health System to provide strategic focus for international consulting, educational and clinical care collaborations, and oversight of institutional affiliations with foreign organizations.
Jeffrey Farber, MD, MBA
Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Population Health
Jeffrey Farber, MD, MBA, leads the development and standardization of quality measures within the clinically integrated network while overseeing the development, installation, and monitoring of programs and systems to evaluate the quality, value, and efficiency of care across Mount Sinai’s clinical system. He also develops and manages practice transformation services for primary and specialty care, specialized clinical solutions, and patient engagement programs to improve clinical outcomes in support of the Health System’s population health strategy.
Dr. Farber is also the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Mount Sinai Health Partners. As CMO, he is responsible for the development and management of Population Health quality programs and clinical integration efforts within the Mount Sinai Health System and across the community of aligned providers. His efforts engage physicians to implement care management programs in their practices to improve quality and efficiency.
Allan Stewart, MD
Director, Aortic Surgery, The Mount Sinai Hospital; Medical Director, International Programs
Allan S. Stewart, MD, is Director of Aortic Surgery and Co-Director of the Valve Center in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital, and also serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Stewart joined Mount Sinai in 2013.
Dr. Stewart has performed more than 2,000 combined elective and emergency procedures in his career, including 1,000 heart valve operations. He specializes in the treatment of aortic valve disease through surgical aortic valve repair, aortic reconstruction, aortic valve-sparing surgery, aortic root replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, aortic dissection, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and mechanical aortic valve replacement. Additionally, his clinical research focuses on creating and testing novel treatments and technologies for aortic valve repair and patient mechanical circulatory management during complex aortic surgery. He has published approximately 30 peer-reviewed research publications.
As a heart surgeon, Dr. Stewart seeks to develop new ways to treat structural heart disease in a more minimally invasive way, increasing patient survival, improving patient outcomes, and delivering more long-lasting, durable surgical results while decreasing overall costs. Dr. Stewart pioneered a novel technique in stentless biological aortic root replacement. He also developed a novel hybrid endovascular procedure for minimally invasive aortic repair, aortic replacement, and treating complex aortic aneurysms.
Jonathan Wetzel, MBA-H
Jonathan Wetzel, MBA-H, as Director of Network Development and International Business Development, is responsible for managing active relationships and new partnerships. He plays a key role in Mount Sinai’s global expansion and the operational oversight of Mount Sinai International, LLC. Prior to this, he served as Associate Director of Network Development and International Business Development and Manager of Network Development, predominantly focusing on strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and relationship management for the Mount Sinai Health Network. Before joining Mount Sinai, Mr. Wetzel served as Project Manager, Western Region, for Northwell Health (formerly known as the North Shore-LIJ Health System), where he began his career as one of only four administrative fellows selected from graduate programs focused on health care administration.
