Mount Sinai Health System Launches Same-Day Appointments

New York, NY
 – January 9, 2017 /Press Release/  ––

Mount Sinai Health System today announced it will offer same-day appointments with primary and specialty care physicians.

The Same-Day Program was created to provide fast and efficient access for patients with immediate health concerns or those requiring a second opinion. Patients who use the service can speak with a registered nurse who will ask questions about symptoms to identify the appropriate expert. For complex or chronic medical conditions, additional information may be required before an appointment is scheduled. The goal is to match the patient with the right expert.

“People have very busy lives, and we see this service complementing a model we have created, one that offers access to world-class care when and where you need it,” said Kenneth L. Davis, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mount Sinai Health System. “By creating more convenient ways to access care and removing barriers to access, we are changing the face of medicine and ensuring the health of our communities.”

“Patients with urgent needs will be seen by a physician as soon as possible,” said Abraham Warshaw, MD, Senior Vice President, Mount Sinai Health System, and Associate Professor of Population Health Science and Policy, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “The goal is to ensure patients are matched efficiently with the right expert.”

Patients may call 844-4MD-APPT (844-463-2778) or email PhysicianAccessServices@mountsinai.org before for a same-day consultation with a physician.
