Wall Street Journal - Manhattan Hospital Transfers Patients after Losing Power

 – October 30, 2012 /Press Release/  ––

NYU Langone Medical Center, one of the nation's premier hospitals, moved to transfer about 200 patients after its power cut out sometime after 7 p.m. Monday as superstorm Sandy struck the region, a hospital spokeswoman said. The patients, including adults, children and newborns receiving critical care, were being transferred to various area hospitals, according to spokeswomen for NYU Langone and area hospitals. Ambulances would ferried patients to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The Mount Sinai Hospital, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The receiving hospitals will notify the families of patients of the transfers, Ms. Greiner said. Learn More
