"Prenatal Diet Rich in Vitamin D May Cut Allergy Risk in Kids"

Children born to women who eat vitamin D-rich foods during pregnancy have a lower risk of hay fever, but vitamin D supplements do not have the same effect, a new study suggests. "Expectant mothers have questions about what they should eat during pregnancy, and our study shows that it's important to consider the source of nutrients in a mother's diet," said study leader Supinda Bunyavanich, MD, MPH, an assistant professor of genetics and genomic sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
