Crain's New York Business - "Mount Sinai to Operate in Downtown Brooklyn"
The Mount Sinai Medical Center will be establishing a new multi-specialty physician practice in downtown Brooklyn. The new practice is part of Mount Sinai’s strategy to develop a small number of freestanding multi-specialty sites offering a wide array of outpatient services. But in the process they also lower overall overhead. “Part of the incentive is to spread out overhead costs associated with physician practices,” said Wayne Keathley, president and chief operating officer of The Mount Sinai Hospital. Concentrating so many doctors at one site in a strategic location is more cost effective than operating the smaller sites, which tend to have high overhead, he noted. Learn more
