Manhattan startup OffTheScale is launching its chronic-disease management program at Mount Sinai Health System next week. It includes a combination of technological and traditional interventions that will be made available to employees with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and asthma. Each group of participants will have access to both in-person counseling sessions and online support groups, as well as wearables and an app to track their progress. OffTheScale aims to combine the workplace wellness trend with the medical sector's recent focus on population health outcomes, said Ashley Heather, a co-founder of the company.
