CNN Headline News - "Can Woman With 'Syndrome X' Help Solve Mysteries Of Aging?"

 – January 22, 2013 /Press Release/  ––

Brooke Greenberg is a 20-year-old woman living with the mind and body of a toddler. She stopped aging when she was two. Her condition is so rare, even doctors have difficulty explaining it. But learning more about her genetic code may help them solve other medical mysteries. Dr. Eric Schadt from the Institute of Genomics and Multiscale Biology, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, said, "Brooke has been seen by many of the world's experts, she's had the full gamut of testing done, and nothing has been uncovered that fits any current diagnosis. We are taking a look at her genome with modern technologies, we've also sequenced her entire family's genomes to uncover what are the changes in Brooke that are unique to her that we don't see in the general population."
